Scared To Dance club night on New Year’s Eve. The new music December podcast. January dates with BBC 6 Music’s Gideon Coe DJing and our Swedish Special. Plus the line-up for our gig night in February.

Who do you want to be when you grow up?

John Cale, obviously.

Do you have any odd creative rituals?

I always listen to music and podcasts whilst working. And coffee. Lots of coffee.

What are you obsessed with?

Music, football and politics. In that order.

What keeps you inspired?

Werner Herzog, Mark Rothko, Stewart Lee, Manic Street Preachers, Sylvia Plath, Joe Strummer, Dennis Bergkamp, Richard Burton, Josie Long, George Orwell, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Jeremy Deller, Simon Armitage, Nina Hoss, John Ronson, Ken Loach, Le Corbusier, McCarthy, Amy Lawrence, Robert de Niro, Johan Cruyff, David Lynch, Tony Benn, John Peel.

What’s on your bedside table?

A radio, always a book (currently Mark Kermode’s Hatchet Job) and a yellow lamp. I don’t like clutter.

What’s your idea of luxury?

Being able to work with people whose work I admire.
